  • Hilton’s address changes from Gresham Press Buildings in November 1890 to 25 Pilgrim St., Ludgate Hill. Then in 1892, he removes again to 1 Imperial Buildings, Ludgate Circus (journal itself)
  • Hilton remains supervising editor of The Bookbinder and The British Bookmaker through its full run; E. Gowing-Scopes joins him as co- or sub-editor when The Bookbinder becomes The British Bookmaker in 1890
  • In 1895, a legal dispute between Hilton and Raithby & Lawrence ended in Hilton being fired from The British Printer (Harry Whetton took over the editorship)
  • Hilton went on to found and edit The British Art Printer and Lithographer (which was banned for breach of a non-compete clause after he broke with Raithby, Lawrence, & Co.), The Art Printer and Lithographer (which was Hilton’s short-lived attempt to get around the ban), and finally the Caxton Magazine (1920-59)
