- This issue no longer lists William Hailing as editor. His name remains absent until vol. 2, no. 19 (Spring 1886), in which Thomas Hailing prints an obituary titled "In Memoriam." In this, Thomas states that "since the last issue of the Circular, our brother, William Hailing, has been gathered to his fathers" (75). The article goes on to quote from an obituary in Press News which explains that William "continued on and off at his post [as editor of Hailing's] until about three years ago, when he was compelled to give up work altogether" (75). William died of tuberculosis "after an illness of over sixteen years' duration" on 20 January 1886 (75).
